Special Screening
An Afternoon with Zoë Bell, featuring Death Proof
DIRECTED BY QUENTIN TARANTINO
USA, 2007, 90 MINUTES, NOT RATED
Stuntman Mike (Kurt Russell) has a really cool car. A “death proof” car. Unfortunately for his passengers . . . to get the benefit of it, you really need to be sitting in his seat. Fourteen months after his first joyride with Pam (Rose McGowan) in Austin, TX, Mike turns up in Lebanon, TN, and meets a new group of voluptuous women who are taking a few days off from the movie set they’re working on. Led by stunt woman Zoë Bell (playing herself), the group decides to test drive the “Vanishing Point” Challenger and play a deadly game of ship’s mast. This is when Stuntman Mike makes the poor decision to have some fun with them. Quentin Tarantino’s DEATH PROOF has some of the most intense car chase scenes ever filmed, paying homage to Russ Meyer’s Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! and, obviously, Richard C. Sarafian’s Vanishing Point while still retaining the usual sharp Tarantino banter and whole lot of hot women kicking ass. Zoë Bell will be in attendance for a post-screening Q&A to answer all of your questions about the film and being one of the leading stuntwomen currently in Hollywood.
This event costs $20 or two vouchers. Voucher redemption is available in the Enzian lobby 12pm-8pm daily. Tickets will be available for sale online March 17th.
