Director Bio:
Winsor McCay (“The Flying House”) was an American cartoonist and animator. A prolific artist, McCay’s pioneering early animated films far outshone the work of his contemporaries. His two best-known creations are the newspaper comic strip Little Nemo in Slumberland and the animated cartoon Gertie the Dinosaur.
Bill Plympton (“The Flying House” and “Summer Bummer”) is considered the king of indie animation and is the only person to hand-draw an entire animated feature film. In 1987 he was nominated for an Oscar® for his animated short “Your Face.” In 2005, Bill received another Oscar® nomination, this time for his short film “Guard Dog.”
