KID-THING

Living on the outskirts of Austin, Texas, Annie (extraordinary newcomer Sydney Aguirre) is a troubled ten-year-old girl whose moral compass has completely detached as she spends her days vandalizing and destroying everything in her path. While her part-time demolition derby driver and goat farmer father Marvin (producer/cinematographer Nathan Zellner) sleeps his days away, Annie passes time shoplifting, menacing kids from other schools, and just exploring the neighboring lands. One day she hears the distress call of a woman coming from an abandoned well in the middle of the woods. When Annie discovers the woman needs help, she takes matters into her own immature hands. Over the last decade, the Florida Film Festival has been home to many of the Zellner Brothers’ uniquely bizarre short films and screened their acclaimed feature Goliath in 2008. KID-THING is a haunting fable that will surprise even their most die-hard fans.

Director Bio:
David Zellner (Kid-Thing) and his brother Nathan are Austin-based filmmaking siblings who have written, produced, directed, and edited numerous films and music videos that have screened at festivals worldwide. Their filmography includes five shorts: “Flotsam/Jetsam,” “Redemptitude,” “Aftermath on Meadowlark Lane,” “Fiddlestixx,” and “Sasquatch Birth Journal 2,” all of which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. Their 2008 Sundance Film Festival feature, Goliath, was distributed by IFC Films.
