EAST COAST PREMIERE/2ND US SHOWING
There are dreams of success and dreams of power, dreams of glory and dreams of love. In this fine romantic comedy, Oliver, an animator (hence, a creator of dream worlds), finds himself in an adventure of self-discovery made possible by the beautiful, sexy, wild, and crazy Lily who takes him to heights he has never known and depths that turn dreams into nightmares. A keen and finely observed riff on Jonathan Demme’s 1986 farce, Something Wild, this film manages to bring losers of epic proportion together and make us want them to triumph through all that they do to each other and themselves. An amazing cast, led by Whit Hertford (who also wrote and produced) and Mary Kate Wiles (who turns a stereotype into an archetype), gives the script just the right balance of dreaminess and weight. We’ve all been to a dreamworld at least once. This is your chance to revisit the land.
