The Revenant

U.S. soldier Bart Gregory (David Anders, TV’s 24, Heroes, Alias) is killed in the Middle East and his body is returned to the United States, where his funeral is held. That night, however, Bart awakens from the grave. Confused, he makes his way to the house of his best friend Joey, who’s obviously surprised to see his recently deceased and buried friend at his doorstep. Joey and Bart are even more surprised to learn that Bart is now a zombie who must consume human blood to survive. The search for blood drives them to become vigilantes of sorts, killing criminals in the middle of committing crimes… all while cruising around in a ’79 Camaro. This B-movie with brains defies genre conventions with witty dialogue, impressive special effects, and excellent performances. THE REVENANT is both a kick-ass horror movie and hilarious buddy comedy as it touches on friendship, regret, and the nature of good and evil, all while being bloody, vulgar, bloody, and absurdly funny.
