Something’s rotten in the town of Newyville. The Braino Corporation and evil (and quite silly) Dr. Wagner (Craig Ferguson, The Drew Carey Show) want to take over the world by controlling the quiet community’s children. What they need is the microchip eccentric scientist Dr. Island (Joe Morton, Smallville) has developed to train dogs instantly. During a failed attempt by the bad guys to steal the chip, Dr. Island manages to implant it in his dog Lenny just in the nick of time. Lenny (Andy Richter, Late Night with Conan O’Brien) manages to escape in the melee, realizes his special powers, and becomes a talking “Wonderdog.” The fun-filled adventure continues as our brainy canine hero befriends Zach, a local seventh-grader; his crush Becky, a ninth-grade journalist wannabe; and Officer Wyndham (Michael Winslow, Police Academy, who also wrote the story). Together, they must thwart Dr. Wagner’s insidious plan for world domination. Shot in south Florida and boasting an inspired cast and wacky sense of humor, LENNY THE WONDER DOG is a perfect family comedy for kids, Moms, and Dads of all ages.
